Quite against standard protocols, Klingons come aboard under the guise of going to the communal facilities, they kidnap two people off the station. Meanwhile, the Senior staff are trying to determine ulterior reasons for the explosion of the human cargo vessel, the Dynamite.

Kunama entered the Bridge, which was full of officers at their posts. She smiled, she knew she had always been one for command and even Starfleet had recognised the fact. Also, her knowledge of war situations, space knowledge and knowledge of other such things was highly valuable.
"Report," she said coolly before moving to her seat and looked to the one who previously had the con.
"Not much has happened, Sir but the Dynamite, a human freighter, did explode due to a sudden loss of Anti-Matter. Lieutenant Thos has reported in and is currently running scans of the debris field"
"What was the Dynamite's crew compliment?" Kunama asked, curious as to the event.
"About fifteen to seventeen on the last time she was here. Freighters tend to be family run organisations and the manifest never remains the same for too long," the Commander replied. "What of her journey here? Did they report in any previous ailments?" "No Sir, a smooth run till now." "Odd... why fall to a sudden Anti-Matter explosion after a good journey? Is it me or that makes no sense?" Kunama said softly, ears perked.
"Your orders, Sir?" The Commander asked. Kunama smiled, glad they had finally grown into the habit of calling her 'Sir'. All the 'ma'am' lark had been rather annoying. It simply wasn't in her vocabulary or dialect of Nolfia.
"Take scans of the debris field. See what Odan has found. If her hasn't found anything of interest yet, let him continue. I want a detailed report of this incident. Lieutenant Schweiss, see if you can find out any other cause that could have lead to the Dynamite's demise." Kunama said formally.

Jonus came walking onto the bridge in what has now become known over the last few days as his usual miserable manner; slow and deliberate.
"Captain, I just felt you ought to know that a ship called the Dynamite......" he stopped and looked around, picking up a glare or two. "Oh, you already know" he said with some surprise. He supposed it was just because he was used to knowing things first. "Well then, I guess I don't need to tell you about the power failure then..." he said and turned to go.

+ Kunama turned at her rank and listened attentively, frowning as her officers glares sent the man away again, "Lieutenant, remain. We have yet to get another feedback from Odan Thos. What have you to tell us?" She asked coolly, ears forward and alert. +

"Well, as you can imagine, the astrometrics sensors are much more sensitive, powerful, and capable then the standard sensors" Jonus began without a hint of modesty "So even studying the galaxy, I pick up ships and their activity all the time. The Dynamite's power grid failed for a full minute. There was still enough momentum so the ship kept moving, and the residual energy left over from shutdown was enough to make it seem like the ship was still active" Jonus reported, as though he couldnt find anything less interesting to talk about
"Standard power failure. Except for one thing......"

Kunama sighed softly as he started speaking. She wanted the facts, not what Astrometrics was capable of. She already knew what astrometrics were capable of. Nolfian vessels had them too, except a little more advanced.

"The Containment field for the Anti-matter was still up" he replied quickly, seeing as she was irritated "In fact, most of the systems that prevent ships from exploding were up. Its just that when the power came back on those safety systems shut down, and the ship exploded" he told her

+ She was silent for a few minutes before she nodded. "Thank you Lieutenant," she said with a nod finding the intel strange. "Has Odan reported in yet?"

Quote:
"Deep Space Twelve to Mercery,"
"This is the the shuttlecraft Mercery. What can I do for you D.S. Twelve?"
"This is Captain Kunama, Lieutenant Thos. Have you come across anything of interest? No matter how big or small, I'd like to know,"
"Yes sir. The freighters impulse signature had a point one percent higher output then a freighter that size should have produced, but this is with the databases tolerance levels. I have found trace amounts for a strange alloy, but I can not tell if it is do to something they where carrying, part of their ship or a result of the explosion. The final thing is I did personally notice a distortion in the star field pattern, but could not detect any signs of a cloaked ship or subspace distortion. That is all I got for you from the last thirty minutes of scanning I have preformed. What are your orders Sir?"
"Acknowledged Lieutenant. It appears that the ship wasn't actually online at the time she exploded. She still had momentum and residual energy to make it appear that nothing was amiss. See what else you can find out, see if you can identify that alloy. It might contain a clue as to what the occupants were up to. See if you can transport some of the debris aboard, if not, contact Lieutenant Sharpe and see if he can help you. Kunama out,"

+ Kunama looked at him for a long moment, "No, I don't think so. You're free to continue your work in Astrometrics" she replied, "If you do come across anything, let me orthe Science Chief know" she replied. +

+ Kunama sighed softly as she heard her crew busy about the Bridge. "So, have we any interesting visitors today?" she asked aloud and an officer peered up. "Not many, Sir. Mainly a few transport vessels and a select few other vessels." He replied, and she smiled hearing just how bored he sounded. It was also rather odd for a station to not have many vessels coming into dock. The facilities were usually a big attraction. +

Odan Thos walked off the turbolift on the bridge of Deep Space 12. He looked around in awe. The only space station she was Jupiter Station. It was nothing like Deep space 12, so he took it in for a second before he spotted the Captain. He walked up and placed his hands behind his back and waited for the captain to be finished for what she was doing. Once she was done he spoke up. "Sir, Lieutenant Odan Thos. I was the pilot of the Mercury when the Dynamite exploded. I wise to continue to be the one that analysis of the debris, sir." Odan spoke confidently as he looked Captain Kunama in the eyes. Odan knew he was not the strongest scientist on the station but he knew ships, and furthermore had thought his input could be valuable sense he took all the scans.

+ Kunama smiled at the crewman before turning to acknowledge the Andorian waiting patiently. She smiled softly as listened and considered his request, "I think that is manageable, Lieutenant. Was Lieutenant Sharpe successful with the transport?" she asked, liking to remain knowledgeable on situations. +

Odan stood at attention as he spoke calmly to the Captain. "Yes sir. From what I could detect from the Mercury it was around a hundred seventy five kilograms of debris. Most was small piece only a few grams in weight, however I did notice a few good size pieces also were collected. Unfortunately that was about the total mass left of the Dynamite after the loss of anti-matter, it was one hell of an explosion." Odan closed his eyes, gritted and felt like slapping his head. He should have not said that last remark. It could have been taken the wrong way as though he was cold or heartless to the lost of the Dyamite's crew. This was not the case, but he had never met the Captain, so did not understand how she would take the comment.

+ "I imagine it was... if no lives had been lost" she said softly, she did feel the comment a little cold but she held some understanding. Whilst bad things happen and they were never happy, one could still appreciate things about them. "I will have a team assigned to help you Lieutenant, unless you feel like doing that yourself. We will be supervising an Ambassador who's coming to stay for a while from planetside, so for the meantime, let's keep a low profile about the Dynamite untill necessary to reveal more light on the situation" she said to him. The planet she had mentioned was not directly near the base but it wasn't that far away. A few light years and not much more than that. +

Odan nodded. "Yes Sir. I well have the team keep this below the radar to the best of their ability."Odan paused and through if he needed to say anything else to the Captain. As he was about to turn around and leave he realized one more thing. "I well have a preliminary report for you by tomorrow at 0600 hours." This was not to bold of a statement, it was still early in the day, so Preliminary report would normally be submitted the next day. Once he was satisfied the captain had nothing left to say to him he turned and headed off the bridge. He headed towards the Science Lab, sense that is where the remains should have been sent.

+ She nodded with acknowledgement, "Thank you Lieutenant," she breathed before he left. She thought for a moment when the communications officer interrupted her thoughts.
"There's a message from Starfleet for you, Captain," "I'll take it in my Ready Room, Ensign. thank you," "Yes Sir."
